OhioHealth in Columbus, OH seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/APRN) to support the thoracic surgery team as a Surgery First Assistant in the OR. You will work closely with a surgeon in inpatient or same-day settings and perform invasive procedures with a high level of independent clinical decision-making.
This role requires SA/SCA with a supervising physician, adherence to state laws, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Job Description Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), work in collaboration with the surgeon in the operating room, whether hospital-based inpatient or same-day surgery setting, serving as a Surgery First Assist in a variety of specialties. Performs invasive procedures and requires a high level of independent clinical decision-making.
Responsibilities And Duties:
Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician and may perform services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice. Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
