Job summary

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for Duke Raleigh Thoracic Surgery Clinic in Raleigh, NC to work with attending physicians, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provide direct patient care in a Monday–Friday day shift.

The role requires NP or PA credentials with NC licensure; practice includes pre/post-operative care, charting, and coordinating with the care team; hours are flexible to meet clinic needs.

Qualifications

• NP requires RN licensure in North Carolina and national NP certification.
• PA requires NC license and PA-C certification.
• Graduate education in nursing or PA programs as specified.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians and document data.
• Take patient histories, conduct exams, and write progress notes.
• Order and schedule labs and diagnostic procedures and explain procedures to patients.
• Monitor progress and report to supervising physician.
• Assist in surgery and perform chest tube removal and wound care.
• Provide in-patient rounding on thoracic surgery patients.
• Collaborate with care team and ensure EMR documentation.
