Qualifications

• Fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery is required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery.
• Specialized training and demonstrated experience in lung transplantation.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.
• Commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Interest in program development, quality improvement, and clinical research is valued.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with advanced lung disease requiring transplantation.
• Perform lung transplant procedures and other complex thoracic surgical cases.
• Provide comprehensive perioperative and postoperative patient care.
• Participate in transplant selection committee meetings.
• Collaborate with pulmonology, critical care, and transplant medicine colleagues.
• Contribute to program growth, outreach efforts, and quality initiatives.
• Share in call responsibilities with the cardiothoracic surgery team.
