Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks a board-certified thoracic surgeon to build and lead a new lung transplant program. This role offers the chance to shape protocols, form a multidisciplinary team, develop a referral network, and drive UNOS certification with support from Arizona's largest health system.

The ideal candidate will have fellowship training in thoracic surgery, lung transplant experience, and a vision to serve patients across the Southwest.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified or eligible in American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
  • Experience leading academic clinical programs and teaching residents, fellows, or students.
  • Extensive thoracic surgery experience including lung transplant.
  • Experience with minimally invasive and robotic techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a new lung transplant program within Banner system.
  • Shape clinical protocols, multidisciplinary teams, referral networks, and UNOS processes.
  • Collaborate on academic activities and education.
