Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the Thoracic Surgery department in Concord, North Carolina. This full-time role requires performing comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications as part of a surgical care team.

Schedule consists of 4 10-hour shifts with rotating weekend and holiday coverage. DEA license eligibility and NP licensure in the state are required, with BLS certification active.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
• Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state one works.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority via Board of Nursing or Medical Board.
• BLS required with expiration date greater than 90 days from start.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
• Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care.
• Performs minor medical and/or surgical procedures.
• Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.
• Orders and interprets daily laboratory and radiology examinations.
• Determines treatment plan for patient.
• Documents encounters in the medical record.
• Advocates for patients and participates in policy development.
