Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its Cardiothoracic Surgery team. You will conduct history taking, physical exams, daily assessments, and procedures, while managing prescriptions and treatment plans. Experience in CT surgery is valued and DEA/prescriptive authority eligibility is required.

You will document encounters, advocate for patients, and participate in meetings and policy development. BLS is required and NC practice is assumed.

Qualifications

Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC.
BLS certification required; expiration date >90 days from start date.
Demonstrates critical thinking and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical exams, and daily assessments.
Records findings and plan of care.
Performs a wide range of surgical and/or medical procedures.
Writes prescriptions and administers medications.
Orders and interprets labs and radiology exams.
Determines treatment plans for patients.
Documents encounters in the medical record.
Acts as a patient advocate and participates in meetings and policy development.
