Job summary

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Full-Time Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider. Join a busy, collegial team with autonomy, experienced surgeons, and opportunities for growth.

Night shifts with a 7-on/7-off schedule and 84 hours per pay period are available; some travel to other sites may be required. Applicants must have NP/PA licensure in NC, prescriptive privileges with DEA, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program and maintain NC licensure to practice as NP/PA.
Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
BLS/ACLS certified.
Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with supervising physician.
Maintain clinical competency appropriate to patients' age and needs.
Work independently with strong decision-making and effective communication; coordinate with MDs, APPs, and staff.
Shifts: Nocturnist - 12-hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off; night shift with 84 hours per pay period.
Weekend and holiday coverage; travel to other sites may be required.
No OR responsibilities, but possible exposure to OR setting; perform procedures such as talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, drain removals, and wound VAC placements.
