Job summary

Pine Rest is seeking a Psychiatric Technician Level 1 in Kalamazoo for on-site care of clients with mental illness and developmental delays. You will support safety, milieu management and crisis intervention under supervision, collaborating with a tight-knit team.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, documentation, and participation in treatment plans. Candidates may have CNA certification or related coursework; weekend/holiday hours may apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of a minimum of six months post high school education in behavioral sciences or equivalent is preferred.
• CNA certification or one to two years of college education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe and secure environment for persons served and staff in both individual and group settings.
• Collaborates in day-to-day planning/development of person served programming and implementation of programs.
• May assist persons served with personal care (bathing, shaving, washing hands, hair, dressing, etc.).
• Actively participate in safety management, crisis intervention and prevention, including de-escalation and emergency care.
• Documents progress notes, medication administration, and other relevant information as required.
• Assists in teaching persons served and family social skills, daily living skills, and coping techniques.
• May train new staff.
