York General seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist for third shift. You will perform diverse clinical tests, ensure specimen integrity, and maintain analyzers in a team-focused lab.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Science and ASCP certification preferred. You will support patient care through precise testing and collaboration with healthcare staff in a reputable Midwest hospital system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science required.
• ASCP certification (or equivalent) as MLS/MT strongly encouraged.
• In-depth knowledge of laboratory theory, practice, and instrumentation.
• Ability to think critically and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Multitask across several subdepartments.

Responsibilities

• Collect and label patient specimens properly, including DOT urine drug screens.
• Verify specimens, test orders, and patient identification with precision.
• Perform a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests using established procedures.
• Maintain lab instruments through inspections, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate test results for accuracy using quality indicators.
• Answer technical questions about methods, specificity, and sensitivity.
• Participate in evaluating and implementing new testing procedures and equipment.
