Ohio CAT and Owens Community College invite you to join the Caterpillar ThinkBIG Program, a two-year paid internship combining classroom learning with hands-on shop experience in diesel technology. You will complete the Caterpillar curriculum, gain real-world repair experience, and advance through increasingly complex tasks under skilled mentors.

Participants must have a high school diploma before start, demonstrate mechanical aptitude, and show strong communication and teamwork.

Join the CAT ThinkBIG Program at Owens Community College and gain hands-on experience with Ohio CAT while earning your degree. This two-year program combines classroom learning with paid shop internships, preparing you for a high-demand career as a diesel technician.

What You’ll Do:

At Owens:

• Complete the Caterpillar curriculum at Owens Community College.
• Maintain a strong GPA and graduate successfully.
• Represent Ohio CAT professionally on campus.

In the Shop:

• Train under experienced mentors.
• Perform real-world diesel repair and maintenance tasks.
• Progress to more advanced assignments over time.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required before program start).
• Basic diesel knowledge or mechanical aptitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and use necessary equipment.
• Comfortable using computers and diagnostic tools.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift/carry up to 40 lbs; pull up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, sit, climb stairs, and enter/exit machinery.
• Frequent hand/wrist/finger movement.
• Work environments range from quiet offices to loud shop environments.
