Job summary

The Caterpillar ThinkBIG Program at Owens Community College partners with Ohio CAT to launch your career in diesel technology. This two-year paid internship combines classroom learning with hands-on shop experience to prepare you for a high-demand trade.

You will complete the Caterpillar curriculum, maintain a strong GPA, and be mentored in the shop while gaining real-world diesel repair skills and professional representation of Ohio CAT on campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required before program start.
• Basic diesel knowledge or mechanical aptitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and use necessary equipment.
• Comfortable using computers and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Caterpillar curriculum at Owens Community College.
• Maintain a strong GPA and graduate successfully.
• Represent Ohio CAT professionally on campus.
• Train under experienced mentors in the shop.
• Perform real-world diesel repair and maintenance tasks.
• Progress to more advanced assignments over time.
