Amcor is seeking a Thermoforming Technician in Kansas for a long-term career in industrial maintenance and technical manufacturing. You will gain hands-on experience with thermoforming and extrusion equipment, learn foundational mechanical and process skills, and work with experienced technicians in structured training.

The role supports growth into higher-level maintenance or process-focused positions with on-the-job training and PPE provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate thermoform equipment to ensure production is smooth, safe and efficient.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown and cycling procedures for the thermoforming line including extruder, former and trim press.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues on the line to reduce downtime and scrap.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and communicate during shift changes to resolve production issues.
  • Complete line changeovers and ensure related documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Follow ENV, health and safety regs (GMP, HACCP, SQF, ISO) and company policies.

Overview

Thermoforming Technician role offering a starting point for a long-term career in industrial maintenance and technical manufacturing. You will gain hands-on experience with thermoforming and extrusion equipment, learn foundational mechanical and process-related skills, and work alongside experienced technicians who will help you grow. The role includes structured training, exposure to advanced materials, and opportunities to advance into higher-level maintenance or process-focused positions.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate thermoform equipment to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and cycling procedures for the entire thermoforming line, including extruder, former, and trim press.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues on the line to reduce downtime and scrap.
  • Perform and document in-process quality checks; communicate clearly during shift changes and collaborate with team members to resolve production issues.
  • Complete line changeovers and ensure all related documentation is filled out correctly.
  • Follow environmental, health, and safety regulations, including GMP, HACCP, SQF, ISO, and company policies.
  • Ensure PPE is obtained and worn properly before shift starts.
  • Record accurate production data in systems such as WebEFF.
  • Support operators when issues arise, including assisting with defective parts and rework.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth operations and assist others as needed.
  • Support QA by verifying product specs and documenting rejected data when required.
  • Follow sanitation procedures, line clearance protocols, and equipment startup/shutdown checklists.
  • Keep the production area clean and organized, ensuring all chemicals and tools are stored properly.
  • Report safety concerns or abnormal machine behavior to supervisors immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Assistant Group Leader.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and process issues.
  • Dependable work history with strong attendance and punctuality.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety standards.
  • Willingness to complete on-the-job training and demonstrate understanding of process responsibilities.
  • Ability to accurately complete documentation and enter data into production systems.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and production needs.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs with assistance occasionally.
  • Ability to push or pull loads over 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 7 hours in an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and shovel material as needed.
  • Ability to work in dusty or smoky environments intermittently.
  • Hearing sufficient to respond to alarms and forklift horns.
  • Vision requirements: 20/40 or better with peripheral vision of at least 70 degrees.
  • Ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
  • Ability to use both hands effectively and work overhead or in awkward positions.
  • Ability to climb ladders safely and without assistance.
Additional Information
  • Compensation: $21.53/hour + shift differential
  • Work Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm)
