Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking a Thermodynamics Engineer RS-1 to join our Centennial, Colorado team. You will perform thermal analyses on Atlas V and Vulcan launch vehicle systems and support the ICPS for NASA's SLS programs.

You will develop analytical models, define requirements, and contribute to thermal test planning while collaborating with a world-class team to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• Thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer coursework emphasized.
• Ability to check analyses with heat transfer hand calculations and energy balances.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal engineering analyses for launch vehicle systems across pre-launch, ascent and on-orbit phases.
• Develop analytical models and data-driven approaches to solve complex thermal problems.
• Define, monitor, and control requirements for thermal design and operation.
• Create procedures and plans for thermal testing where needed.
• Resolve thermal issues arising during production and launch operations.
• Improve analysis processes to reduce cost and risk and improve performance.
