Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Centennial, Colorado seeks a proactive Thermodynamics Engineer RS-3 to join our team, focusing on thermal design and analysis for Atlas V and Vulcan launch vehicles and supporting ICPS for NASA's SLS.

The role entails developing analysis methodologies, performing comprehensive thermal analyses across all mission phases, mentoring engineers, and using Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, SpaceClaim, AutoCAD and MATLAB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace Engineering with 4+ years in thermal modeling and related analysis.
• Familiarity with spacecraft/upper stage pre-launch, ascent, and on-orbit thermal analysis and thermal design.
• Proficient in Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, SpaceClaim; ability to perform hand heat transfer calculations.

Responsibilities

• Develop approaches, methodologies and tools to solve complex system problems using analytical modeling and empirical methods.
• Perform conceptual and detailed thermal analysis for launch vehicle elements and facilities across pre-launch, ascent and on-orbit phases.
• Define, monitor and control requirements for complex launch systems; develop thermal test program plans.
