Job summary

United Launch Alliance, LLC. seeks a Thermodynamics Engineer to perform thermal analyses for upgrades to the Vulcan Centaur V flight system.

You will evaluate temperature limits for booster and upper stage designs, and help ensure reliable operation across pre-launch, ascent, on-orbit and re-entry phases. Responsibilities include developing analytical methods, defining requirements, and contributing to thermal test plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Relevant coursework in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and/or fluids.

Responsibilities

• Performs conceptual and detailed thermal analysis and design for launch vehicle booster, upper stage, and launch facility at component and systems levels.
• Develops methodologies and tools to solve complex engineering problems using analytical modeling and semi-empirical approaches.
• Defines, monitors, and controls requirements related to design, development, and operation of launch systems.
• Develops thermal test procedures and resolves issues arising from field operations.
