Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking a Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our Vulcan Centaur development team. You will design, integrate, and validate propulsion fluids systems, including cryogenic and hydraulics, while coordinating with manufacturing, suppliers, testing, and operations to ensure schedule, cost, and performance goals are met.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 4+ years of related experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail in fast-paced development environments.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or fluid systems design, analysis, integration, or testing.
• Understanding of fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and mechanical system design principles.
• Experience developing engineering drawings, specifications, or technical documentation.
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues and supporting RCA investigations.
• Ability to interpret engineering requirements and verify compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop sub-system and component designs to satisfy propulsion system requirements.
• Perform system integration and trade studies for manufacturability and performance.
• Generate engineering drawings and assembly/testing requirements.
• Provide direct support to suppliers, factory, and launch site to ensure schedules and resolutions.
• Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Review as-built hardware and test data to certify configuration and performance.
