Job summary

Fluidstack in Austin, TX is seeking a hands-on Thermofluids Test Engineer to own the test program for compressors, performance mapping, instrument calibration, and safety interlocks. You will build and validate test setups and work across the design team to turn data into design changes.

Candidates should have experience commissioning test stands, performing root-cause analysis, and managing uncertainty budgets; strong data skills and LabVIEW/NI experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up test stands, instrumentation, calibration, and shakedown.
• Ability to commission a machine to failure with complete instrumentation.
• Experience maintaining an uncertainty budget and measurement significance.
• Knowledge of interlock and abort logic for high-energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the test program from first spin to validated performance map.
• Specify and stand up test cells: motor test bench, gas loop, load bank, instruments.
• Define measurement chain and uncertainty budgets for credible data.
• Write interlock and abort criteria for high-speed, high-pressure machinery.
• Turn test data into weekly design changes within the design loop.
