Job summary

HTC Global Services in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Product Engineer – Thermal Systems to drive mechanical design of automotive thermal hardware, including coolant, refrigeration, and HVAC subsystems. You will translate system requirements into manufacturable CAD designs and coordinate with suppliers across tooling and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of automotive mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in CATIA, Siemens NX, or 3DEXPERIENCE for part/assembly modeling.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Understanding of DFM/DFM across multiple manufacturing processes (molding, brazing, stamping).
• Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and pressure systems in thermal hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of thermal system hardware from concept through production release.
• Design thermal components across coolant, refrigeration, and HVAC/climate control systems using 3D CAD tools.
• Package and route thermal hardware within vehicle architectures while resolving space, interface, and clearance constraints.
• Translate thermal, hydraulic, and refrigerant requirements into manufacturable designs meeting targets.
• Develop designs optimized for manufacturing processes (injection molding, brazing, stamping, extrusion, machining).
• Collaborate with suppliers on tooling and manufacturing feasibility to balance cost, weight, and quality.
• Apply GD&T principles, perform tolerance stack-up analysis, and define critical dimensions for fit and sealing.
• Support structural, flow, thermal, and durability analyses with engineering teams.
• Utilize DFMEA to identify and mitigate potential design failure modes.
• Create and release detailed component/assembly drawings, manage CAD data and BOMs.
• Collaborate with system, subsystem, controls, and test engineers, and suppliers.
• Support design reviews, validation, and product launch readiness.
