Job summary

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority seeks an experienced Thermal/Power Plant operator to run, adjust and maintain plant equipment ensuring dependable heat and power supply. The role covers daily operations, safety procedures, and coordination with the Deer Island team.

With a Massachusetts Third Class Engineer's License and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, you will monitor systems, perform routine tests, and contribute to a safe, compliant work environment on-site at Deer Island,

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• At least 3 years of experience operating Thermal/Power Plant equipment and related systems.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Massachusetts Third Class Engineer's License is required.
• Completion of productivity improvement training and demonstrated competencies.
• Position designated as essential in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains thermal/power plant equipment including boilers, turbines, fuel systems, and pumps.
• Performs SOPs for plant operations and electrical distribution.
• Maintains logs and reports; ensures safety and compliance with lockout/tagout procedures.
• Inspects and services plant machinery to maintain efficiency and reliability.
• Directs deliveries and orders for chemicals and fuels; supports maintenance tasks.
