Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer with Thermal Energy Network expertise for its Denver, CO office. The role focuses on decarbonization and district energy systems, collaborating with MEPS teams on private, public, and federal projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Thermal Systems Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE).
• Existing license or the ability to obtain licensure in CO within 3 months of hire is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience.
• Energy Certifications and Accreditations (CGD, CEM, CDP, BEAP, BEMP, LEED AP BD+C) or interest in pursuing similar certifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and optimize heating and cooling systems for multiple buildings, campuses, or municipalities.
• Develop hydraulic models and energy models; optimize control sequences.
• Size and layout distribution piping; balance loads and peak demand.
• Assess TEN feasibility from site data, loads, and energy rates.
• Provide technical guidance, cost estimates, and coordination with multi-discipline teams.
