Job summary

Invenergy LLC is seeking a Manager of Thermal Development to lead the creation of greenfield and brownfield standby combustion turbine and combined cycle projects, including carbon capture, across the United States. The role can be based in Chicago or Denver, with travel to project sites as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 6+ years in a similar field, and familiarity with utility-scale development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in a similar role and industry.
• Familiarity with utility-scale project development and thermal energy production.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 25% of the time to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop multiple projects supporting origination of PPA and Build Transfer opportunities.
• Evaluate thermal power generation technologies including carbon capture.
• Support market entry analysis, site evaluation, permit readiness and acquisition.
• Manage internal/external resource development activities (site acquisition, real estate, interconnection, regulatory approvals).
• Direct economic model development and financial evaluation.
• Collaborate with Engineering to determine technology choices, performance and costs.
• Create and manage project development budgets and cost estimates.
• Report and execute project management across development lifecycle.
• Coordinate with Regulatory to understand market drivers and target key markets.
• Work with Commercial Analytics to identify requirements for system sizing and operation.
