Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in San Jose, CA seeks an Engineering Assistant with strong CAD modeling skills to support our blanket design team in our production facility. You will work closely with Thermal Hardware Engineering on innovative projects while developing drafting and CAD skills.

Responsibilities include 3D modeling of blankets and shields, creating 2D templates, maintaining CAD libraries, and operating Gerber cutting equipment. Preference for Creo/AutoCAD proficiency and PLM experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• High school diploma/GED.
• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and support shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with thermal engineers to define blanket designs for manufacturability.
• Create 3D modeling of thermal blankets and shields including 3D-printed and metal shielding.
• Create 2D flat pattern templates for manufacturing.
• Maintain CAD libraries, drawing templates and configuration control.
• Operate Gerber cutting equipment and sustain lean manufacturing.
