Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in San Jose, CA seeks an Engineering Assistant with strong CAD modeling skills to support our blanket design team in our production facility. You will work closely with Thermal Hardware Engineering on innovative projects while developing drafting and CAD skills.

Responsibilities include 3D modeling of blankets and shields, creating 2D templates, maintaining CAD libraries, and operating Gerber cutting equipment. Preference for Creo/AutoCAD proficiency and PLM experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• High school diploma/GED.
• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and support shift changes.

• Create 2D flat pattern templates for manufacturing.

## Thermal Engineering AssistantApply: San Jose, CA: Full time: Posted Today: R24249## Please review the job details below.**Job Description** Lanteris Space is seeking an Engineering Assistant with strong CAD modeling skills to support our blanket design team in our production facility in San Jose, CA. This role offers opportunities to work closely with our Thermal Hardware Engineering team on innovative projects while developing advanced drafting and CAD skills. The Thermal Blanket and Integration Manufacturing team helps provide proper blanketing and protection from temperature, radiation and micro meteors to the satellite while in orbit. You will have an opportunity to help build some of the world’s most complex satellites and space infrastructure products. **Responsibilities:** * Collaborate with thermal engineers to define blanket designs accounting for thermal requirement, manufacturability and installation ease* Obtain requirements and create 3D modeling of thermal blankets and shields including 3D-printed, fiberglass and metal shielding* Create 2D flat pattern templates for manufacturing* Maintain organized CAD libraries, drawing template revisions, and configuration control* Incorporate lessons learned from blanket fit checks and evaluate potential process improvements* Create and update relevant work instructions for manufacturing* Operate and maintain the Gerber cutting equipment* Sustain lean manufacturing (5s) and Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CI&I) **Minimum Requirements** * Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident* High school diploma/GED* 4 years of relevant work experience* Ability to work overtime, weekends, and support occasional shift changes to support programs goals **Preferred Qualifications** * Proficiency in Creo and AutoCAD* Teamcenter or PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software experience* Strong understanding of engineering principles and drafting standards* Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings* Can program and operate panel router such as Gerber cutter (using Cutworks software)* Can program and operate consumer 3D printers (using UltiMaker Cura)* Strong communication and collaboration skills In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.● The base pay for this position within California is: $35.36 - $58.94 hourly.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
