Job summary

Avera is seeking a Therapy Technician to support therapists and therapy services under supervision. You will prepare patients and treatment areas, handle clerical tasks, and help maintain equipment in a busy clinic environment.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8-5 with weekend and holiday rotations. The role includes patient transport, documentation, and collaboration with the nursing and therapy teams to ensure efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• Requires visual acuity adequate to perform duties and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapy patients for therapy sessions.
• Collaborates with nursing and therapy team to optimize therapy times.
• Assists with treatments as directed by therapists; monitors patient distress.
• Assists patients to wheelchairs/transfer chairs and moves equipment as needed.
• May assist with transport back to patient rooms if applicable.
• Monitors and cleans therapy equipment to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Process therapy orders, schedule therapy appointments, and complete documentation.
• Provide clerical support (phones, authorizations, registration, scheduling).
• Assist therapists in setting up equipment and maintain supplies for therapy services.

Education

High School or GED Equivalent

Less than 1 year patient care related experience
