Job summary

Avera St. Luke's in Aberdeen, SD is seeking a Therapy Technician to support therapy services under the supervision of a therapist. The role includes preparing patients and treatment areas, performing clerical tasks, and assisting therapists and aides to ensure smooth patient flow in the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapy patients for therapy sessions.
• Collaborates with both the nursing and therapy team to optimize appropriate therapy times.
• Assists with treatments as directed by therapists.
• Monitors patients during visits and notifies therapists of any patient distress or concerns.
• Assists patients to wheelchairs/total lift chairs and transfers patients and equipment needed for therapy.
• Monitors and cleans therapy equipment, mats, etc, to insure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Provides clerical support as needed including answering phones, scheduling, and prior authorizations.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewUnder the supervision of a therapist, provides support to therapy services. Duties may include preparing the patient and the treatment area, clerical duties such as registration, billing, scheduling, computer and answering the phone, transporting patients, cleaning and maintaining equipment. The therapy technician works as part of a team to promote efficient patient work flow throughout the clinic by being readily available to support therapists and therapy assistants.What you will doPrepares therapy patients for therapy sessions.Collaborates with both the nursing and therapy team to optimize appropriate therapy times.Assists with treatments as directed by therapists.
