Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

• Participate in and oversee the performance of non-clinical supportive activities involving the administration of routine therapeutic treatments delegated by and supervised by a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), who retains responsibility for caring for the patient and directing and supervising support personnel.
• Implement physical or occupational therapy programs established by the PT, OT, or PTA.
• Communicate with supervising PT, OT, and/or PTA regarding patient and family responses; encourage adherence to treatment regimens at home.
• Obtain data related to the interventions provided.
• Ensure patient and family safety and comfort.
• Promote the culture and philosophy of Scottish Rite for Children Sports Medicine Center.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with physicians, patients of all ages and their families, hospital staff, and community professionals.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks and infection control processes, such as disinfecting equipment and work areas, and organize the facility for the next operational day.
• Assist in inventory management, including requesting and restocking supplies.

Required Skills/Abilities

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with disabilities or in a therapy setting is preferred.
• Certification in CPR.
