Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment. Position requires a license and certifications (BLS, ACLS, RRT) with experience across adults, pediatrics, and infants.

Shifts are 12 hours (6:30 AM–7:00 PM or 6:30 PM–7:00 AM) with potential weekend rotations and holidays as needed. The unit expects independent work, ability to handle varying daily treatments (5–10, up to 30), and quick adaptation to the EMR system.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in respiratory therapy is required.
• One year of travel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs and monitor patient vitals.
• Manage ventilators and adjust settings as needed.
• Administer breathing treatments as prescribed.
• Collect arterial blood gases (ABGs) for analysis.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and turnover; float to other floors as needed.

Description:Unit has a varying number of treatments each day, typically between 5-10 and up to 30.The volume of treatments depends on patient load in the emergency room and other units.Average procedural count is at least 20.Certifications BLS, ACLS, and RRT are required, while PALS and NRP are preferred.Five years of experience in respiratory therapy is required, with one year of travel experience preferred.Candidates must be able to work independently and be ready to take on responsibilities immediately.The facility utilizes a specific electronic medical record system that is user-friendly.A charge respiratory therapist is present during day shifts only.Weekend commitments will ideally be every other weekend, but flexibility is necessary based on department needs.Staff may be expected to work on holidays if required.Call is not mandatory, but flexibility may be needed if the department is short-staffed.The assigned shifts are 12 hours, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.Schedules are typically posted two weeks in advance.All staff must be prepared to float to other floors as needed.Assignments will consider each unit's workload to maintain fairness.Duties include performing EKGs, managing ventilators, administering breathing treatments, and collecting ABGs.Respiratory therapists must also maintain equipment cleanliness and turnover.Candidates must have experience with all patient types, including adults, pediatrics, and infants.The facility is a small hospital located within proximity to various recreational activities.The cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to two shifts per 13 weeks.
