Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week therapy assignment in Massachusetts, working under the supervision of an occupational therapist to support rehabilitation interventions in long-term care. Focus areas include ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, and functional mobility.

Active OTA license is required; LTC or Rehab experience is preferred. New grads with Level II fieldwork may qualify.

Description:Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements under the supervision and direction of an occupational therapist.Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices under the supervision of an occupational therapist.Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising occupational therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising occupational therapist.Provides consultation to patients, as well as families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders.Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.Provides input to the supervisor for discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements.Participates in required meetings including but not limited to patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.Participates in facility and company-required training, in-services, and conferences.Works with supervising occupational therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the occupational therapist.Adheres to NBCOT/AOTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as an occupational therapy assistant.Active state licensure/registration is required when applicable.
