Nationwide Healthcare Services is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to implement individualized therapy plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist in a long-term care setting. This per diem position requires flexibility to travel to nearby facilities and contribute to the care team.
The OTA will attend rounds with the OT, document therapy services, and adjust plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements individualized occupational therapy treatments that are created to maximize potential under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
1. Graduate of a school of Occupation Therapy Assistant program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association and Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education standards.
2. Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license and able to practice in the state(s) of licensure.
3. Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in long-term care preferred.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, use hands to fingers, talk and hear, reach with hands and arms, twist from side to side, and bend at the knees.The team members will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, push a minimum of 200 pounds, and push such a weight a minimum of 200 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and distance vision.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write clear and concise routine reports and documentation regarding resident care. The ability to speak effectively before groups of residents, team members, and family members.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.). Familiar with telephone equipment, fax machines, copiers, and other various pieces of office equipment.
