Job summary

Medix seeks a Rehab Department Lead in Fort Lauderdale, FL to direct and mentor PT, OT, and SLP clinical staff in an acute care setting. The role emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, and excellence in patient care.

The incumbent will oversee staffing ratios, productivity metrics, supply inventories, and departmental budgets, while collaborating with physicians, nursing, and care management to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PT, OT, or SLP program (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate).
• Active Florida state license as PT, OT, or SLP (or eligible) + BLS certification.
• Hands-on acute care/hospital experience.
• Minimum of 1 year in a lead, supervisory, or management role.

Job description

• Compensation: $86,000 – $140,000 / year (Commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Departmental Leadership: Direct and mentor PT, OT, and SLP clinical staff in an acute care setting.
• Operations & Budgeting: Oversee staffing ratios, productivity metrics, supply inventories, and departmental budgets.
• Quality & Compliance: Conduct chart audits and ensure alignment with state/federal regulatory standards and hospital SOPs.
• Interdisciplinary Care: Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and care management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited PT, OT, or SLP program (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate).
• Licensure: Active Florida state license as a PT, OT, or SLP (or eligible) + BLS certification.
• Clinical Background: Proven hands-on acute care/hospital experience.
