Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Therapy Department Assistant to support therapists, maintain patient areas, and ensure smooth department operations in a fast-paced hospital setting in Richmond, VA.

The role requires high school education, BLS certification within 30 days, and clerical/computer skills with familiarity in medical terminology. This position offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within our system.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of start date.
• Experience in a therapy area; Clerical skills; Intermediate computer skills/Proficient in use of Microsoft Office; Exposure to medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures satisfaction of customers, (patients, visitors, physician and staff)
• Assist therapists with patient care
• Participates and understands department PI activities
• Prepares and maintains area for patient treatment.
• Maintains department supplies and inventories
• Demonstrates effective communication
• Demonstrates an understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Promotes cost effective unit operations.
• Provides support to the staff and director
• Complies with professional, regulatory, governmental and departmental standards.
• Maintains patient schedules based on department standards.
