Job summary

Beacon Mental Health in Kansas City, MO is seeking an organized Monitoring Specialist to ensure documentation accuracy and billing compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field.
• Prior experience in behavioral health preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) or other complex electronic information systems preferred.
• Experience with documentation review, data monitoring, auditing, billing, or quality/compliance activities preferred.
• Knowledge of behavioral health services, clinical documentation, billing, confidentiality, and triage processes.

Responsibilities

• Run monitoring reports to identify documentation and billing errors and facilitate corrections.
• Support the Compliance Team with corrections to clinical documentation and billing records.
• Monitor caseloads to identify missing or untimely documentation and follow up with staff as needed.
• Process referrals, authorizations, and discharge paperwork for therapy services.
• Open therapy episodes and enter required authorizations for Youth and School-Based Therapy services.
• Assist with reauthorization reviews and UM Panel preparation.
