Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor for an inpatient setting in York, PA. You will provide compassionate, client-centered care within a structured environment, facilitating individual, group, and family sessions while participating in treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team.

Clinical supervision is available, and we offer support toward CADC, CAADC, LPC, and LCSW credentials, helping you build a long-term behavioral health career at Pyramid Healthcare.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in counseling or related field with applicable license or certification (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CAADC) or eligibility to obtain.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with CADC, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field with CAAC, or eligibility to obtain.
  • High School Diploma with CAAC, or eligibility to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling in an inpatient setting.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed.
  • Complete timely documentation within the ECR.
  • Participate in Level of Care Assessments and support treatment recommendations.
  • Assist with utilization review, discharge planning, and aftercare coordination.
  • Collaborate with clinical, medical, and support staff to promote positive outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for clients and staff.
  • Respond to crises per safety protocols.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and clinical training.
  • Participate in on-call rotation; complete required training and other duties.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling in a supportive inpatient setting.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches based on individual needs.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation within the Electronic Clinical Record (ECR).
  • Participate in Level of Care Assessments and support appropriate treatment recommendations.
  • Assist with utilization review, discharge planning, and coordination of aftercare services.
  • Collaborate with clinical, medical, and support staff to promote positive client outcomes.
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for clients and staff.
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral or clinical crises and follow established safety protocols.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, clinical training, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation as needed.
  • Complete required training and other duties as assigned.

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field, with an applicable license or certification such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or CAADC, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with CADC, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field with CAAC, or eligibility to obtain.
