Pyramid Healthcare seeks a Full-Time Counselor for our Harford County Inpatient Treatment Facility in Joppa, Maryland. You will deliver comprehensive clinical services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, working with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery.

Qualifications

• Maryland credential(s) listed must be held by the candidate.
• Active trainee, certification, or licensure recognized by Maryland boards is required or allowed.
• Preference for candidates with inpatient or residential behavioral health experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete biopsychosocial assessments and evaluate client needs.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans with the team.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
• Facilitate groups using evidence-based practices.
• Maintain compliant clinical documentation in the EHR.
• Coordinate care with referrals, medical providers, and community partners.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case reviews.
• Assist with discharge planning and relapse prevention.
• Conduct assessments and level-of-care determinations as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and on-call support.

As a Counselor, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and other behavioral health concerns. What You'll Do

As a Counselor, you will:

• Complete biopsychosocial assessments and evaluate the behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs of clients.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Provide individual counseling, group counseling, family sessions, and psychoeducational programming.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups utilizing evidence‑based practices and interventions.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record.
• Coordinate care with referral sources, medical providers, community agencies, and external stakeholders as appropriate.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case reviews.
• Assist with utilization review processes and continued‑stay authorizations.
• Support discharge planning, aftercare coordination, relapse prevention planning, and continuity of care efforts.
• Conduct clinical assessments and level‑of‑care determinations as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute behavioral health concerns.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and other program responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.
• Complete all required trainings and maintain compliance with company, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

Candidates must possess one of the following Maryland credentials:

• Maryland Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT)
• Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)
• Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
• Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LGADC)
• Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
• Licensed Certified Social Worker‑Clinical (LCSW‑C)
• Any active trainee status, certification, or professional licensure recognized by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists or the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners

Preferred Qualifications
