Job summary

Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia, seeks a Youth Group Supervisor to develop the daily living program and supervise Youth Care Workers in each cottage.

You will collaborate with professional staff to meet each youth’s treatment plan and provide paraprofessional support across program operations, reporting to the Director of Group Living. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in social work or psychology with related experience, 21+ years, and the ability to pass background checks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology with two years of professional experience working with children (one year in a residential facility).
• High school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of professional experience working with children (two years in residential facility).
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to pass criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Develop the daily living program within each cottage.
• Train and supervise Youth Care Workers within their cottage.
• Collaborate with staff to meet each youth’s treatment plan goals.
• Perform paraprofessional work in program operations.
• Report to the Director of Group Living.

Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Pay: Salary based on education, experience and qualifications. Starting at $58,240

What you will do:

Group Supervisors have the responsibility for the development of the daily living program within each cottage. Also, Group Supervisors will be responsible for the training and supervision of the Youth Care Workers within their cottage. Group supervisors provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the youth. Group supervisors work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each youth’s treatment plan. Group supervisors perform standard level paraprofessional work in every aspect of the program operations. This position reports to the Director of Group Living.

To be considered you should:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• A bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology & two years of professional experience working with children one year of which must have been in a residential facility for children
• a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years professional experience working with children with at least 2 years in a residential facility for children
• a combination of education and experience working with children as approved by the department
• 1-Year Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Schedule:

Monday- Friday, varied shifts based on operational need. Rotating on call shifts (with bonus) required.
