Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral of Jackson offers acute and residential services to children and adolescents. We are seeking a PRN master's level Mental Health Therapist to join our growing team and help improve adolescents' lives through high‑quality care.

Responsibilities include intake interviews, treatment plan development, group and weekly individual/family therapy, and timely documentation. Must have a Master's degree and (TN) licensure eligibility; inpatient psychiatric experience required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field.
• At least one year of related inpatient psychiatric experience.
• Eligible to become Licensed Tennessee LAC, LCSW, LPC or LMFT; reciprocity from another state allowed.
• Full-time days Monday - Friday with some weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and administers therapeutic treatment plans via intake interviews and documentation.
• Observes clients and monitors progress within treatment plans.
• Conducts group therapy sessions.
• Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions.
• Performs daily counseling tasks including progress charting.
• Responds to emergencies involving clients in treatment.
• Ensures clear, concise, accurate communication and maintains confidentiality.
• Completes documentation within 24 hours of completion.

The Therapist’s responsibilities include the following:

• Develops, implements, and administers therapeutic treatment plan by performing intake interviews for medical and psychological history and compiles all pertinent documents to facilitate treatment plan
• Observes client for abnormal physical or mental behavior and monitors progress with components of treatment plan
• Conducts group therapy sessions
• Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions according to treatment plans
• Performs daily tasks of counseling by instructing clients in progress charting
• Responds to any emergency involving clients in treatment
• Performs community relations by ensuring all written and verbal information is clear, concise, legible and accurate
• Completes documentation within 24 hours of completion
• Documents all external and internal contacts and relays client information according to company and governmental guidelines maintaining appropriate confidentiality

Qualified Mental Health Therapist’s candidates should have the following:

• Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) in psychology, counseling, social work or related field required
• Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in inpatient setting with psychiatric experience required
• Licensure: Must be eligible to become Licensed Tennessee LAC, LCSW, LPC or LMFT. Able to consider someone who has a reciprocity license from another state
• Schedule: Full-time days Monday - Friday with some weekend availability
