Job summary

Perimeter Healthcare in Jackson seeks a PRN master’s level Mental Health Therapist to help improve adolescents' lives through high-quality care. The role supports acute and residential services for children and teens within our growing behavioral health network.

Responsibilities include intake interviews, treatment-plan administration, group and individual therapy, discharge planning, and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field is required.
• At least 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience.
• Eligible for Tennessee LAC, LCSW, LPC or LMFT licensure; reciprocity considered from other states.
• Full-time days Monday - Friday with some weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and administers therapeutic treatment plans after intake interviews.
• Observes client behavior and monitors progress as per treatment plans.
• Conducts group therapy sessions.
• Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions.
• Coordinates discharge planning 24-48 hours in advance.
• Performs daily counseling tasks including progress charting.
• Responds to emergencies involving treated clients.
• Maintains confidentiality and documents communications per guidelines.
• Completes documentation within 24 hours of completion.

The Therapist’s responsibilities include the following:

• Develops, implements, and administers therapeutic treatment plan by performing intake interviews for medical and psychological history and compiles all pertinent documents to facilitate treatment plan.
• Observes client for abnormal physical or mental behavior and monitors progress with components of treatment plan.
• Conducts group therapy sessions.
• Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions according to treatment plans.
• Coordinates discharge planning 24-48 hours in advance.
• Performs daily tasks of counseling by instructing clients in progress charting.
• Responds to any emergency involving clients in treatment.
• Performs community relations by ensuring all written and verbal information is clear, concise, legible and accurate.
• Completes documentation within 24 hours of completion.
• Documents all external and internal contacts and relays client information according to company and governmental guidelines maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

Qualified Mental Health Therapist’s candidates should have the following:

• Education: Master’s degree (MA/MS) in psychology, counseling, social work or related field required.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in inpatient setting with psychiatric experience required.
• Licensure: Must be eligible to become Licensed Tennessee LAC, LCSW, LPC or LMFT. Able to consider someone who has a reciprocity license from another state.
• Schedule: Full-time days Monday - Friday with some weekend availability
