Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
- Display active involvement in the treatment planning process.
- Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
- Communicate actively with clients, families, and outside referral sources.
- Communicate proactively with those involved with the patient's treatment.
- Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members.
- Demonstrate active communication with team members.
- Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues.
- Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
- Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills.
- Act as a member of the team when a crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety.
- Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills.
- Assist care coordination department as requested.
- Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards.
- Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality.
- Complete releases appropriately.
- Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abide by those standards.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws.
- Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after‑care planning treatment processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or equivalent required.
- License: Current clinical or social work license required by state regulations.
- Certifications: CPR and De‑escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire.
Hourly range: $38‑$41 per hour
