Job summary

Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia, is seeking a Therapist to provide individual, group and family therapy to youth aged 5-14 in a psychiatric residential setting.

The role requires a Master’s in social work or related field, Virginia licensure (LCSW/LMFT/LPC or Resident/Supervisee), and at least 2 years of experience with children and families. Schedule is Monday–Friday, on-site with up to one remote day weekly.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or a related mental health field.
• Licensed by the State of Virginia as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC OR Resident in Counseling (RIC) or SiSW.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing mental health counseling to children and families.
• Ability to perform a therapeutic restraint.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual, group and family therapy with a caseload of 8–10 clients.
• Develop and implement Client Treatment Plans and attend related meetings.
• Provide timely reports on progress and obstacles to treatment.
• Document interventions and outcomes in a timely manner.
• Facilitate 1–3 therapy groups weekly as needed.
