Job description

Purpose:

UPMC is looking to hire a casual Therapist to join our Pine Outpatient Program! The Pine Outpatient Program is a general outpatient program that provides diagnostic assessment, medication management, individual, family, and group therapy services to ages five to twenty-five. The program treats a wide variety of diagnoses such as, but not limited to, Depression, Anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Mood Disorders.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides mental health services, with some degree of autonomy, using designated individual treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other agreed-upon models of care, to patients with depression, anxiety, personality, and other disorders.
2. Demonstrates knowledge of the WPIC system and is able to assess for appropriate levels of care, making referrals to appropriate resources and clinics based on clinical evaluation in collaboration with patients.
3. Independently performs psychiatric assessments with accurate diagnostic impressions in the majority of cases. Conducts scheduled psychiatric evaluations for patients, providing support, and assuming responsibility for appropriate disposition. Maintains contact with the patient as needed until assignment to the treatment program.
4. Provides group and family psychotherapy. Has in-depth knowledge of group dynamics and includes family members in treatment when clinically indicated.
5. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the differential diagnosis of mood, anxiety, personality, and other psychiatric disorders affecting adults.
