Job summary

Abraxas Youth and Family Services in Marienville, PA, seeks compassionate professionals to support behavioral health clients. This role offers paid training, growth opportunities, and a chance to make a lasting impact on individuals and families.

Responsibilities include evaluating client needs, providing supervision and counseling under clinical direction, and developing individualized treatment plans within an integrated care team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a clinical mental health discipline (e.g., Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, Marriage & Family Therapy) with clinical coursework; at least 1 year post-master’s experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Background checks (federal/state) and pre-employment screenings required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates behavioral and emotional clients’ issues.
  • Provides direct client supervision to clients with chronic or acute mental disorders requiring active treatment.
  • Interacts meaningfully with clients.
  • Provides individual, family, and group counseling under clinical supervision as per the treatment plan.
  • Conducts psycho-educational assessments under supervision.
  • Makes observations and documents client treatment interventions, behavior, and progress.
  • Provides direct client supervision and interacts therapeutically.
  • Interacts with educational team to ensure appropriate educational placement.
  • Interprets treatment objectives for other staff and assists with integrated services.
  • Participates in treatment team conferences regarding client behavior, diagnosis, and progress; participates in treatment planning and aftercare.
  • Develops and updates clients’ individualized treatment plans.

What You’ll Do
  • Evaluates behavioral and emotional clients’ issues.

Qualifications
  • The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline, such as: Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, and Marriage and Family therapy. Master’s Degree must include clinical coursework in the foundations of behavioral health and the provisions of mental health services; field work practicum is preferred. At least oneyearverified post-master’s experience providing mental health treatment.
  • Participation and completion of mandatory in-services.
  • Participation in at least ten hours of documentedadditionalin-service per year.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Physicalexamthat includes TB and drug testing.
  • Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
