Job summary

New Hope Treatment Centers in Milton, WV is seeking a Residential Counselor to supervise and support youths with mental health needs within a therapeutic residential setting. You will ensure safety, guide residents through daily routines, and assist with treatment activities under supervision.

The role requires strong communication, adherence to program rules, and the ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team. Evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with working with children is preferred but not required.
• Must have High School Diploma.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage residents with mental health conditions within a therapeutic residential milieu.
• Provide therapeutic supervision during treatment activities and document progress.
• Report behavior disruptive to the milieu to the Program Supervisor.
• Assist in orientation of new residents and enforce program rules.
• Assist in managing aggressive residents using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain safety and supervise rounds, counts, and activities.
• Document interventions and resident progress in health records daily.
• Participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team and required meetings.
