Job summary

S:US is seeking a Program Coordinator to support a therapeutic horticulture service that uses urban farming as a therapeutic tool, employment pathway, and personal development driver. You will promote engagement in Urban Farms programming, mentor participants, and supervise staff to deliver impactful activities.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, leading workshops, and collaborating with leaders on curricula and special programs, including Harvest Celebration, while maintaining

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in a related field (horticulture, agriculture, nutrition, education, human services).
• Demonstrated education/teaching or coaching experience (min 2 years).
• Interest in horticulture/agriculture evidenced by at least 1 year of related activity.
• Interest in working with individuals with disabilities.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Valid NYS driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison to client support staff to identify, assess and mentor potential participants.
• Identify and assess goals for participants; match goals to suitable roles and activities.
• Provide direct supervision and hands-on instruction to Assistants and participants.
• Develop schedules for Assistants to support operations and development opportunities.
• Develop and offer group educational activities, workshops and trainings with leadership.
• Support development of programming curricula and supervise activities where appropriate.
• Participate in farm product development and entrepreneurial initiatives with leadership.
• Support special programs and events including an annual Harvest Celebration.
• Maintain and report protocols and records for program activities and metrics.
