Job summary

Malden Public Schools is seeking a Therapeutic Special Education Teacher for the RISE program in a long-term substitute role. The position requires MA DESE License in Moderate Disabilities and experience with Autism/therapeutic settings.

You will develop individualized plans, assess progress, and collaborate with a diverse team. The substitute will work within the Malden district, serving students with significant behavioral and emotional needs, and will engage families and staff to support

Qualifications

• Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional plans aligned to student IEP goals.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and applying them in instruction.
• Strong assessment planning and data-based instructional decision making.
• Ability to document data thoroughly and communicate with parents and team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective instructional plans aligned to IEP goals.
• Apply MA Curriculum Frameworks to curriculum and instruction.
• Utilize ongoing assessments to plan day-to-day instruction.
• Collect and document data; share information with team and parents.
• Engage stakeholders in planning and implementation of instruction.
• Integrate support services into daily instruction and planning.
• Create a safe, nurturing learning environment for every student.
• Provide training, supervision, and support for paraprofessionals.
• Support students with challenging Internalizing/Externalizing emotions through therapeutic approaches.
• Coordinate with the Building Principal or Special Education Program Manager.
