Meeting Street Massachusetts Inc is hiring a Long Term Substitute Teacher for 40 hours per week to support students with diverse abilities. You will plan and implement engaging activities aligned with IEP goals and collaborate with therapists to provide integrated educational and therapeutic services.

The role requires MA Special Education certification, 2–3 years of inclusive teaching experience, and knowledge of MA Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS alternate assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education.
• MA Department of Education certification as Special Education Teacher.
• Certification in Severe/Profound disabilities or Mild/Moderate with willingness to pursue Severe/Profound (tuition reimbursement offered).
• 2–3 years teaching experience with and without disabilities in an inclusive environment preferred.
• Knowledge of MA Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS alternate assessments.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsabilités

• Plans and implements motivating and creative age-appropriate activities addressing IEP goals, including vocational opportunities and community-based learning.
• Collaborates with teachers and therapists to implement an integrated educational/therapeutic model.
• Develops lesson plans, progress reports, and IEPs within set timelines.
• Performs MCAS alternate assessments when scheduled.
• Creates a learning environment that stimulates and motivates students to reach their best potential.
• Designs and implements academic and social goals for all students.
• Facilitates interactions among children to foster emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
• Guides classroom staff in curriculum planning and goal implementation, and maintains progress records.
