Job summary

Central Massachusetts Collaborative in Worcester is seeking a Custodian/Maintenance Technician to maintain our therapeutic day school facilities for ages 5 to 22. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and reliable building upkeep to support uninterrupted educational use.

You will perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, HVAC assistance, and security checks, with afternoon/evening shifts and a 8-hour workday on pupil days.

Qualifications

• Able to work afternoons/evenings.
• Able to exercise universal precautions and tolerate management of body fluids, if needed.
• Lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds.
• High School diploma (additional related technical training, a plus).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and professionally with all Collaborative staff, outside vendors, property management personnel and the general public.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Keep buildings neat and clean at all times.
• Perform daily cleaning of facilities and trash removal.
• Report and address safety or building issues to supervisor.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for activities.
• Disinfect common areas and surfaces as required.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and assist with repairs as needed.
