Job summary

Meritus Medical Center Inc. seeks a Residential Care Associate / Med Tech for as-needed hours (48 per month) at our Brook Lane Main Campus in Hagerstown, MD. You will provide compassionate care to adolescents in a residential setting and assist with medications under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; a degree in psychology or social work is preferred. A valid driver’s license, CPR/BLS, and willingness to complete training are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/bachelor in psychology or related field preferred.
• Experience with adolescents in residential care preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Background check, physical, and drug screening required.
• Certified Medication Technician (CMT) through Maryland Board of Nursing preferred—or willingness to complete training.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Willingness to complete required residential training and CPS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to adolescents in a residential treatment program.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups, recreational activities, and daily routines.
• Administer medications under supervision and maintain documentation.
• Monitor safety and well-being; respond to behavioral needs with empathy.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support treatment plans.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new staff.
