Waverly Heights is seeking a Full Time Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team. You will design and implement interactive programs for residents, providing meaningful emotional and social engagement.

Responsibilities include planning activities, attending interdisciplinary conferences, maintaining assessments, and posting schedules. The ideal candidate has a Recreation Therapy or Music Therapy certification and strong customer service skills, with a team-focused, learn-ready attitude.

Qualifications

• Certification in Recreational Therapy or Music Therapy preferred.
• Experience in Therapeutic Recreation is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and teamwork are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Therapeutic Recreation in planning recreational activities and events.
• Represent the Therapeutic Recreation department at Interdisciplinary Care Conferences.
• Assist with completion of activities assessments as assigned.
• Distribute activity calendars to residents.
• Create and post daily activity sheets in nurses' stations.
• Ensure supplies are available for activities.
• Document participation in resident activities.

Waverly Heights is currently seeking a Full Time Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team. Waverly's Therapeutic Recreation Specialists play a crucial role in the compassionate care by enhancing the well-being of our residents. If you are a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who enjoys making a difference by helping to design and implement interactive programs for our residents that provide opportunities for meaningful emotional and social engagement.

• assisting Director of Therapeutic Recreation in planning recreational activities and special events
• representing the Therapeutic Recreation department at Interdisciplinary Care Conferences
• assisting with completion of activities assessments (as assigned)
• distributing activity calendars to residents
• creating and posting daily activity sheets in the nurses' stations
• ensuring necessary supplies are available for activities
• documenting participation in resident activities

Our Therapeutic Recreation Specialist are scheduled 40 hours per week. Certification in recreational therapy or Music Therapy and/or previous experience working in Therapeutic Recreation is preferred. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional customer services skills, a positive attitude, work well in a team environment, and have the ability and willingness to learn.
