Job summary

Acadia Healthcare, in partnership with Tufts Medicine, seeks an Activity Therapist for the new Behavioral Health Hospital in Malden, MA.

You will plan, direct and implement activity therapy programs as part of the patient’s treatment plan, focusing on therapeutic leisure skills and social engagement.

Requires a Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation, CTRS certification or licensure, and 3+ years in healthcare recreation; CPR training preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and plan activity therapy programs.
• Direct and implement activities within the treatment plan.
• Lead therapeutic sessions to improve mental and physical well‑being.
• Develop and adjust treatment plans and activities for patient needs.
• Engage patients in social and leisure activities to support goals.
