Job summary

City of Montgomery, AL seeks a Therapeutic Recreation professional to develop, implement and oversee programs for participants with diverse abilities. You will supervise staff, volunteers and interns while coordinating program schedules and orientation for new participants.

The role supports department objectives and daily operations, including budgeting and resource allocation. CDL preferred to transport participants or equipment to event sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or allied health field and one year of experience programming activities for therapeutic recreation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and coordinate scheduling of all programs for diverse abilities and needs.
• Supervise staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate orientation of new participants.
• Contribute to department objectives.
• Assist Recreation Director in scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation; support program development and community partnerships.
• Supervise, mentor and support staff, volunteers and internship programs.
